Story -
It was a cold, cold, day... and accompanied with mild clouds that promised the on and off snow flurries. This was an unimportant day in the month of February, well, unimportant to most! There were two Tokotas that were being tested for the Rite of Merit in the Honor trait using halter. The half mane female, Iluliaq, was timid, shy, and a very cold puppy! Meanwhile, Mona, the yeti female, was as go lucky and fuzzily warm as could be!
Now, it was time to get back to business, they were loaded out of the trailer and led by their handlers, Casey and Bast, whom were wrapped up snuggly in their coats and scarf’s! In this event, halter, they must show the judges their Tokotas stance, paces and gaits. First Mona went, she executed her stance, walk, then when she trotted, she tripped on her own hair, though she quickly recovered! Next, Iluliaq went, and she was a nervous wreck.
She didn’t do as well as hoped by Casey, but they were confident that the judge’s would look past her jittery behavior. In the stance, it took a lot of coaxing on Casey’s part to get her to stand still in a square, rather than hide behind her mommy! Her walk was guarded, almost looked like a stalk, but near the end she loosened up, her trot was better executed!
After they both had their test done, Casey and Bast let the two roam the arena freely, their collars still on, and Ililuaq did not want to participate, but Mona got her goin’! [264]
